Your family lifestyle photography session

Thank you so much for choosing to book your session with me!

Here’s a bit of information on what to expect.

Feel free to reach out to me via Facebook Messenger to ask me any questions you may have.

I’m excited to capture you and your family! My photography is unique because its a completely custom experience that not only provides you with the family images you’re looking for, it also captures who you are at that point in time. I have a photojournalistic style and like to document who you and your family are and what you’re doing. Yes, I will get those quintessential photographs that you expect; however, you’re going to receive candid images of you and your family. My goal is to elevate your photography experience and give you incredible photographs for you to remember your family at this point in time.

Here are a few tips to help you get ready for your session:

Children: Don’t worry about your children. If they want to run and play, let them run and play. This session is about having fun and capturing the love of your family. I will direct your children in a way that’s natural and fun for them. Rather than incentivise them (“if you’re good, you’ll get ____”), make the session about family time. Have a nice dinner or go out for something nice before your session, so your session is just a continuation of a fun, family experience.

Locations: I photograph in some of the most beautiful spots on Long Island and in NYC. Depending on the time of year, capacity regulations, and access, we will decide together where you want your photos to be. Some locations include (but are not limited to): Hempstead Lake State Park, North Hempstead Beach Park, Captree State Park, Sunken Meadow State Park, Belmont Lake State Park, Planting Fields Arboretum, Caumsett State Park, DUMBO (Brooklyn), Central Park (NYC), Fort Totten (Queens), Crocheron Park (Queens), Astoria Park (Queens), Alley Pond Park (Queens).

Site Permits: Please note that any photography or site permits required for your session are your responsibility to receive and have with you at the day of the photo session.

Length of session: My sessions generally last about an hour; however, I am very efficient and (generally) flexible with time. I am willing to stay later (light-permitting) or end sooner if you have to, so long as I feel we have a good amount of high-quality images.

What to Wear: Your outfit(s) should be comfortable and reflect you and your family. I do not recommend “twinning,” that’s wearing the same outfit; however, feel free to coordinate your attire. Click here to read a blog article I wrote about this topic.

Props: I will not bring props with me, but it’s fine if you want to. You should know that props can take attention away from you and your family, so please be strategic in your prop selection.

I do recommend you bring a blanket that you would want in your photos, as we may sit and lay on the ground.

Please be punctual and ready to start on time: It’s best to arrive early. If your session is in the morning or evening, we will be chasing the light.

COVID-19 Response: I will do everything I can to protect the health of you and your family. I hope you would do the same for mine. Should you, or anyone in your family feel ill, even if the symptoms are not flu-like, or indicative of COVID-19 symptoms, please let me know with as much notice as possible and we will work to reschedule your session. Should you want me to wear a mask, I have masks available and will happily do so throughout the session. I can also photograph you from a distance of around 6 feet away, or more in some cases.

I cannot wait to make some art with you and your family! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. See you soon.
